Our Advocate Speaks of Legal Concerns
Ah, ye knew it was to come. We hear that there be so many issues dealing with that
which is called copyright. Even in this realm, we must
concern ourselves with these weighty matters. There be much toiling done by all
who dwell here in these Realms. Ye must realize that
these toils are done not just for love, but also
as a way of life by which they feed and clothe themselves and those they hold
dear.
The works contained within the Realms always remain the sole
property of their respective creators. These works are being displayed in this
place after making sundry alliances and agreements with the creators. Many of
the works contained within this repository are not to be taken for general use
in the worlds of the Web. They are displayed within so that ye may see examples of the talent which abounds
throughout our Realms and wonder or tremble.
Should ye desire to make use of any of these works, then ye
must contact the much respected and revered creator of that work and seek their permission
for use. Some will require that you part with coinage, yea even lucre. Others
may allow you to use it scotfree, letting it bear a mark or talisman that other worlds and
realms may know from whence it came. We muchly hope that in being
courteously and sagely advised, ye will respect their
toils and give credit honestly and frankly where it be due.
When it comes to the matter of ourselves within these Realms, we ask only this:
be pleased to consider the time and toil that it has taken to build these Realms and cause them to grow
and prosper. We have many questors that ever and diligently seek new, old or yet undiscovered
treasures for our storehouses. Their labor is also a labor of love. Aid them by providing signposts to your
worlds and the things of wonder ye have seen or wrought by thine own hands. A signpost
below, some of our own design and others donated by our visitors, will ease your task.
If ye but click your sinster mouse button upon the signpost, it will be sent to
thy farviewer.
We also beg to state that many of the works gathered herein were assembled from deeply hidden and ancient tombs and repositories.
Thus many of the works yet lack provenance, though through no sparing of effort
upon our part. If in thy journeys through the mundane and other worlds, ye
can identify any of the as yet unknown works, then we beseech ye that ye advise us immediately that we may provide proper
attribution. We would also fain speak with said persons, not only to crave their approval
for display, but also to divine whether they have any other, unknown works which we may add to the
collections.
And now that ye be sore fatigued, we will cease our rattling and permit ye to continue
thy journey through our Realms. We would humbly beseech ye to heed our Advocate's words of caution and simple requests before perusing any of the works
contained in this repository. Should ye wish to learn more of this wondrous and mysterious thing called
copyright, then we urge ye to the references below. where ye shall find enlightenment.
